Today we are sharing Dexter’s story with you as he is heading to the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) in PEI…and we need your help!
Dexter is one of the six amazing and brave dachshunds in our Compassionate Care Foster program. He is an 11 year old, mini black and tan who came into our care in November 2020. Within a few short months, he needed to be seen at AVC where he was diagnosed with a heart condition. Since that time, he has also been diagnosed with kidney disease. Dexter is now in medical distress and requires further assessment at AVC on an urgent basis, due to a variety of worsening symptoms that have arisen. We do not know the exact cost of this hospital visit, or if he will need to be admitted, but with a further cardiology consult, assessment, bloodwork, urinalysis, x-rays, ultrasound, etc, this visit alone will likely be close to $4,000.
It is through your support that we will be able to ensure Dexter gets the medical care he requires. We would appreciate any amount that you are able to give. Donations can be made by e-transfer to daxrescue.ns@gmail.com. Or if you wish a tax receipt, you can donate directly from the Donation page on our website at www.atlanticdaxrescue.com .
And remember we are an all-volunteer, 100% non-profit, registered charity so your full donation will go directly to Dexter’s medical costs. As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support of the dachshunds in our care.
