Kuechly – Assessment Hold

Please help us welcome Kuechly into care with ACDR. This handsome fellow came into care today and will be on assessment hold while his medical needs are met. Kuechly is experiencing some hair loss, will need to be neutered and have a dental cleaning. He is about 6 – 8 years old.

Kuechly’s foster family is off to the pet store this week to get him some much needed items, including a bed, sweater, food & water bowls, a collar, harness and a leash. I am thinking he will get a toy or two, as well πŸ™‚.

If you would like to contribute to his vetting costs, you can donate on our website and receive a tax receipt at www.atlanticdaxrescue.com or you can always send an e-transfer to daxrescue.ns@gmail.com. Thank you πŸ₯°πŸΎπŸ’•

My husband and I are retired engineers…For the past 15 years, we adopt only senior dogs and or dogs with disabilities of any age…Our house is modified to fit at the most 3 dogs at the same time ( dog ramp, fence, beds, …) You can look at our facebook BlackieHavelka and see the photos of our recent and previous pets … Recently we have one dog (Dozer) …Dozer is 13 and a half years old ( adopted from Yarmouth SPCA 7 years ago…He had severe skin allergy and chronic ear infection) …He is healed from the skin allergy, but he gets ear infection from time to time …We also have a cat (Skittles) …She is 7 years old …Both Dozer and Skittles get a long very well … Last week, We lost Lucy for cancer (from elderdog). We had Lucy for 4 years…6 months ago, we lost Dexter for cancer ( from elderdog) . We had him for 3 and a half year…before that we adopted Blackie ( from Baie Saint Marie shelter in church point) and before that we adopdted Rusty ( from SHAID in Bridgewater). We have a vet (Dr.Sandy Clark at Barrington Animal hospital who looks after our pets on regular basis)…We are looking for an old, laid back dog that is OK with other dogs, cats and little children … If you feel that Kuechly may fit in our family, we would like to have him… If not, you have a good idea about who may fit …We also welcome bonded dogs …

    1. Thank you for your message. It sounds like you have given many dogs in need a wonderful place to live out their final years. If you are interested in Kuechly or any of our other dogs, I would invite you to complete an adoption application form on our website on the Available for Adoption page under the Our Dogs tab at the top of our main page. Applications are kept on file for one year. You can indicate a specific dog on the form, or submit a general application and then message us when you see a dog you think would be a good match. So continue to follow us on FaceBook and/or our website.
Thank you for your interest in our rescue.
