Thank you for considering adoption. This application helps us find the best fit for each dog, so please take your time and answer as honestly and fully as you can. The more we know about you, the better we can match you with the right dachshund.
A completed application is the first step in our process, not a guarantee of adoption. Our Adoptions Coordinator and Directors review every application against each dog's specific needs. Due to limited resources, only applications that fit a dog's needs will be contacted.
ACDR adopts within Atlantic Canada only: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Matches are based on the best fit for the dog, not proximity.
What the Application Asks
A little about you and your household, your home and yard, a typical day for the dog, your experience with pets and dachshunds, the kind of dachshund you're hoping to welcome, and your plans for training, vet care, and time away.
Have These Handy
- Your veterinary clinic's name and phone number
- Two personal references, with phone numbers and how long they've known you
- Your landlord or property manager's contact information, if you rent
